Halifax-based Council of Canadians organizer Tori Ball held a Game-changers Tour event in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia this weekend.
From the event, Ball tweeted, “We can’t trust politicians to come up w issues that matter to young people. We need to get on the ground.” And afterwards she told us, “It was a great day on the South Shore! We had around 30 people come to the event and came up with lots of great ideas! We even had a few high school students there which was great to see.”
The gathering also included presentations by Canadian Federation of Students-Nova Scotia chairperson Michaela Sam and organizer David Etherington.
The Game-changers Tour is a series of events and trainings across the country to encourage youth to vote in the upcoming October 19th federal election. Prior to Mahone Bay, the tour had visited the University of Winnipeg, the University of Regina, Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Ryerson University in Toronto and Nipissing University in North Bay.
