NACC out for new blood

The CEOs of the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC) may not value democracy per se but they're surprisingly fair-minded and inclusive among their own -- at least the U.S. CEOs are.
A recent surf onto the Council of the Americas' website -- the CoA and Chamber of Commerce co-chair the U.S. section of the NACC -- shows that not only is the Security and Prosperity Partnership alive and kicking but that its sole advisory body is looking for new blood.
"We cordially invite you to participate in the U.S. Section of the North American Competitiveness Council (NACC)," says an application form describing the selection criteria and process in the United States for CEOs hoping to join the elite club.
The Council of the Americas notes that the American selection process differs from how NACC members are picked in Canada and Mexico. Like Tom d'Aquino, the eternal (unelected) president of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (which chairs the Canadian section of the NACC), Canada's corporate SPP advisors appear to have a lifelong mandate.
There is a December 14, 2007 deadline for applications to sit on the U.S. section of the NACC for 2008. If there's a pool out there guessing who will make the cut, I think I'll put my money on Haliburton and Blackwater.
