Council of Canadians seeks support of U.S. activists to stop SPP
Carleen Pickard of the Council of Canadians is soliciting the support of U.S. social justice advocates for a growing campaign to stop the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. Speaking to thousands of activists gathered at the U.S. Social Forum in Atlanta today, Pickard is asking Americans concerned with the harmful effects of North American integration on the environment and the public interest to join Canadians in an effort to oppose the Summit of the three North American leaders in Montebello Quebec on August 20.

Carleen Pickard is the Council of Canadians’ regional organizer for British Columbia and the Yukon. She coordinates the efforts of 30 Council of Canadians chapters working to promote public interest in the region.
