The ‘Buy American’ deal announced on Friday February 5 by the Harper government will do more harm than good.
The provinces and territories have the power to stop this bad deal by not signing the WTO government procurement agreement before the federal deadline of this Friday February 12.
Maude Barlow has sent an open letter to each of the premiers demanding that they walk away from this deal, at least until public consultations and debate can be held in each province on its implications for communities.
To add your voice today to this urgent demand, please go to trade campaigner Stuart Trew’s action alert at http://canadians.org/action/2010/buy-american-1002.html.
It’s not too late to stop this.
