The Barrie Examiner reports this afternoon that, “Charges were stayed in a Midland courtroom today against a group of Site 41 protesters who were charged with mischief. They were released with a condition that some could have their charges reinstated within one year if the take part in similar activities. Charges were dropped against Ina and Keith Wood, the elderly Tiny Township couple that were the first to be charged earlier this summer.”
On September 18, the Council of Canadians wrote to the Attorney General of Ontario asking that the charges against the Site 41 protesters be withdrawn by the Crown. That letter can be read at http://canadians.org/water/documents/Letter_Bentley_site41_0909.pdf.
