Jacobson says the US has no plans to reopen NAFTA

CBC is reporting late this morning that, “The new U.S. ambassador to Canada says Washington believes the North American Free Trade Agreement is working well.”

“David Jacobson told a crowd of business leaders (at the annual policy forum of the Canadian American Business Council) in Montreal on Wednesday that the U.S. has no immediate plans to reopen NAFTA.”

The Globe and Mail quotes Jacobson saying, “My president is a strong believer in free trade, because it helps the United States as well as Canada and other countries.”

Jacobson’s speech will likely be posted at http://www.canambusco.org/issuepapersspeeches.html.
