Today’s information table.
The Council of Canadians PEI chapter set up an information display at the Charlottetown Farmer’s Market today.
They posted on a Facebook event page, “Learn about Council of Canadians PEI chapter campaigns. Pick up Council of Canadians materials. Sign up as a supporter. Pins & stickers to brighten up Spring.” Some of the Council of Canadians publications they had at their information display today can also be found here.
As a result of their efforts, 15 people signed up to be part of their chapter.
The PEI chapter protested C-51 last month.
The issues the PEI chapter has worked on in recent years include opposing fracking, C-51 (Harper’s “anti-terror” legislation), oil and gas development in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, genetically modified salmon, deep well irrigation, and Harper’s changes to Employment Insurance and cuts to public health care.
