I am pleased to share with you this lovely poem by Leonard Desroches about understanding our relationship with water.
her generosity is unbelievable
her beauty remarkable, inimitable, unforgettable
when you touch her
remember that at too many locations – near and far –
she has been horrifically abused
she is exceedingly gentle; extremely powerful
mirroring Love’s own power and gentleness
embracing whales and minnows
you and your children run and splash in her
she is there for you so much: drink, swim, bathe, shower, fish, farm, cook, wash, manufacture, construct, travel…
now, the question that changes everything:
do you love her as a sister?
does love actually flow from you to her?
