It was another busy day of protesting against fracking in New Brunswick today.
-
This morning, there were posts on Facebook that people were walking alongside the highway toward where the SWN Resources thumper trucks were located. -
In the early-afternoon, we were told that the RCMP had just served the injunction to stay away from the SWN trucks to an 11-year old, and that they had arrested an 80-year-old defender of the water. -
And just 30-minutes ago, it was posted that the thumper trucks and the RCMP have left!

Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow, vice-chairperson Leo Broderick, Saint John-based Board member Leticia Adair, and Atlantic regional organizer Angela Giles will be in New Brunswick tomorrow to express solidarity with the ongoing protests to stop the seismic testing by Texas-based SWN Resources and to support the demand for the free, prior and informed consent needed on the unceded Mi’kmaq territory that is being defended.
Tonight Barlow will be at the Elsipogtog Benefit in Halifax.
