Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow will be at the International Women’s Earth and Climate Summit in New York City this coming September 20-23.
As noted in a letter from the organizers, “We are live streaming the Summit to create an international bi-directional conversation empowering women to take action on climate change and sustainability solutions. We welcome your support in inviting your networks to organize watch parties to the interactive live stream. …We encourage these Vision Hubs to join our Online Solutions Forum immediately and engage in ongoing conversations, iweci.org/solutions-forum. …The summit will be lived streamed from New York State, USA, through an International Women’s Earth and Climate Initiative (IWECI) YouTube channel to the hub location.”
On Saturday September 21 at 10 am ET, Barlow will be moderating a plenary session on ‘Waters of Life – Fresh Water and Oceans’, with speakers Casey Camp-Horinek (Indigenous Environmental Network) and Dr. Naoko Ishii (Global Environmental Facility). That afternoon at 3:45 pm ET, she will be chairing a working group meeting on ‘Fresh Water, Oceans, and Climate Science’ with Camp-Horinek.
If you would like to participate in a Vision Hub (organized watch parties for the interactive live stream), contact Tamela Fish, Outreach Coordinator, at visionhubs@iweci.org.
