Activists around the world are celebrating today the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the Battle in Seattle.
This was a significant moment in our global struggle for justice, and today is a good day to reflect on its meaning and to recommit ourselves to the work that still needs to be done.
At a public forum on climate justice recently held in Ottawa, Maude Barlow said, “we’ll do Seattle proud in Copenhagen”.
You will have also seen trade campaigner Stuart Trew’s blogs from the WTO ministerial now underway, and from them know that we are also trying to do Seattle proud in Geneva.
And, as we all know, beyond these big events, we honour the memory of Seattle through all our actions in our every day work in our communities on a broad range of key issues.

Happy N30!
