UPDATE: Maude Barlow speaks on climate justice

This evening about 200 people gathered to hear Maude Barlow and Walden Bello speak at a public forum in Ottawa titled, ‘Climate for Change?  Building a People’s Agenda for Economic and Climate Justice’.

Gerry Barr of the CCIC and Graham Saul of the Climate Action Network also offered key comments at the forum.

They all spoke to the interconnections between the climate crisis, corporate globalization, trade deals, and the need for a new vision of climate justice.
Council of Canadians media officer Dylan Penner videotaped the event and it will be posted to our website shortly.

The forum, organized by the Canadian Council for International Co-operation, is noted on our website at http://canadians.org/events/Maude_Barlow.html. Click here to read Maude’s speaking notes from the event.

Council of Canadians Board members Steven Shrybman and Fred Wilson were present, as were staff members Andrea Harden-Donahue, Meera Karunananthan, Carleen Pickard and, as noted above, Dylan Penner.
