A maximum capacity audience of 200 participants are at Simon Fraser University in downtown Vancouver this morning for the opening plenary panel for ‘Shout Out Against Mining Injustice’.
The description for the opening panel – ‘Water Justice, Not Mining Injustice! – says, “Mining is a water-intensive and water-polluting industry. This has tremendous impacts on human health and on the sustainability of our ecosystems. This panel will discuss the links between mining and water injustice.”

– Ken Neumann, National Director for Canada, United Steelworkers Union
– Vidalina Morales de Gámez (a member of The National Roundtable Against Metallic Mining in El Salvador – La Mesa)
