Monday October 17, 10 am, ROUNDTABLE – Members of the Trade Justice Network (TJN) and Réseau québécois sur l’intégration continentale (RQIC) networks, and their allies, will meet to strategize about the current moment in the CETA negotiations and determine which efforts will be most effective in these last few months before Harper hopes to sign a deal with the EU. Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow will attend this roundtable.
Tuesday October 18, 3:30 pm, DEBATE – NDP trade critic Robert Chisholm, Liberal trade critic Wayne Easter, and Green Party leader Elizabeth May will debate CETA. Conservative trade minister Ed Fast was invited to participate in the debate, but the response from his office was that his schedule did not allow for this. We continue to seek a Conservative party representative for this debate, as well as someone from the Bloc Quebecois. Free event, all welcome, translation services provided. Ottawa Public Library main branch (120 Metcalfe Street, at Laurier Ave. West).
Wednesday October 19, 7 pm, PUBLIC FORUM – Barlow, CUPE president Paul Moist, and Frédéric Viale with Attac-France will speak at a public forum on CETA. Free event, all welcome. St. Paul’s University campus (223 Main Street, near Clegg Street).
More soon.
