Director-at-Large Nomination Submission

The Council of Canadians is accepting nominations from members of the Council for Director-at-large candidates for election to the Board of Directors. Read the Director-at-large nomination information document for more information.

There is more than one seat available for directors-at-large and the deadline to receive nominations of candidates form is April 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

This is an opportunity for candidates to present themselves to the membership, highlighting their skills and experiences and the contribution they hope to make to the Council of Canadians in this leadership position. Candidates are encouraged to identify how they may contribute to the Board’s diversity representation. The personal statement may include links to a candidate’s Facebook site, Twitter account, or a personal website. Members are Canadians and those who reside in Canada who support the vision, purpose, mission and principles of the Council; and have made an annual financial of $1 and/or in-kind contribution, as set by the Board of Directors.

  1. less than 18 years of age;
  2. incapable;
  3. not individuals; and/or

a. If elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors, I confirm that I am willing and able to:*
  • Participate in conference calls, email and other forms of electronic communications as necessary such as Zoom. This commitment will last until the 2025 Council of Canadians’ AMM, and include monthly meetings of 1.5-2 hours each.
  • Understand and act consistently with my responsibility to the Council and the Board of Directors as a whole;
  • Seek and contribute to a consensus-based approach, and speaking with one voice as part of the Board of Directors, except where consensus could not be achieved and there is agreement as to how dissent will be reflected; and
  • Be prepared to participate fully in the activities of the Board of Directors, without compensation but with direct expenses (as approved) to be reimbursed.
