Proceeds will directly support frontline resistance efforts against the Alton Gas Natural Gas Storage project.
Water protectors have been on the front lines at the mighty Shubenacadie River resisting Alton Gas for more than two years. They are doing crucial work to protect the water for all of us. With winter coming, they need our support to keep them warm and safe.
You’re cordially invited to a silent auction benefiting water protectors! Please join us at the Bus Stop Theatre on December 16 to bid on some fabulous art, crafts, trinkets and gift certificates. You can also enjoy live music!
Proceeds from this third annual silent auction and performance fundraiser will directly support frontline resistance efforts against the Alton Gas Natural Gas Storage project and other Indigenous-led efforts in the region. We are in active consultation with community members and grandmothers about how to distribute funds raised.
If you’re planning to shop for gifts before the holidays, please consider finding some unique things at this auction and double your generosity! Give to your friends, and give back to the water protectors.
This event is being planned on unceded Mi’kmaq Territory by SWAGR (Solidarity With Alton Gas Resistance), of which the Council of Canadians is a member. The focus of this group is to support resistance efforts against the Alton Natural Gas Storage Project. We take our direction from frontline Mi’kmaq communities and other residents of the surrounding area.
Thank you in advance for your generous support!
