Each fall, the Council of Canadians joins the Global Frackdown, a day of action that unites people around the world in a call for a global ban on fracking. The Council of Canadians endorses the event, and, with our supporters and chapters, help raise awareness about the danger fracking poses to water and to people's health. Stay tuned for how you can take action to get a global ban on fracking!

Along with Maude Barlow's video, you can see the videos of Water Campaigner Emma Lui, Atlantic Regional Organizer Angela Giles, Co-Chair of the NWT chapter Lois Little, Board member Steven Shrybman and friend of the Council Andrew Davis.
As part of the first Global Frackdown, the Council of Canadians delivered buckets of “toxic fracking chemicals” (which were actually filled with thousands of petitions addressed to the federal Environment Minister.) More than 10,000 people demanded a moratorium on hydraulic fracturing in Canada until the federal reviews are complete.
