Coalition to march and rally against Harper’s PR effort on CETA

Unions and progressive civil society groups will hold a march and rally to coincide with Prime Minister Harper’s hosting of the Canada-EU Summit to again announce the supposed conclusion of the Canada-EU trade agreement. With growing European opposition to the deal in recent days, especially in Germany and Austria, the Ottawa event has become little more than a face-saving exercise for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and European Commission President José Manuel Barroso.

WHEN: Friday, September 26 – march starting at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: March starting from Transport Canada (330 Sparks Street) arriving at Parliament Hill by noon

WHAT: March and rally to oppose CETA

WHO: Organized by the Canadian Maritime and Supply Chain Coalition with support from the Council of the Canadians, the Trade Justice Network, the Quebec Network on Continental Integration (RQIC), and Campact Germany.

Attention photo and video editors: strong visuals will be part of the event.
