Fair Elections Act Court Challenge

OTTAWA – The Council of Canadians and the Canadian Federation of Students will file a charter challenge against the Fair Elections Act with the Ontario Superior Court tomorrow. The challenge calls into question provisions within the Fair Elections Act that limit the accessibility of voting to Canadians.  It reduces the role and authority of the Chief Electoral Officer, essential for the exercise of voting rights.
