“Imperial Metals No More” Rally at Court Injunction

Community members protest Imperial Metals’ recent court injunction

Vancouver – Today, in order to oppose Imperial Metals’ court injunction against the Klabona Keepers Red Chris Mine Blockade, community members will protest at the Court House.

In the wake of the Imperial Metals Tailings disaster, the Klabona Keepers have been rallying peacefully to stop the construction of the Red Chris Mine on their territory.  They are invoking their Indigenous Rights and Title to the land, in order to protect the water, community, and salmon.

The Klabona Keepers is an organization of Tahltan elders and families who occupy and use traditional lands near Iskut,
