Justin Trudeau town hall in Winnipeg, Council of Canadians available for comment

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will be hosting a town hall in Winnipeg this afternoon. The Council of Canadians is available for comment.

“We are delivering a Star Wars themed letter to tell the Prime Minister that he can be a force for good by protecting lakes and rivers and investing in renewable energy,” said prairies regional organizer Brigette DePape.

“In the context of the recent U.S. election, it is easy to get down, and we are grateful for Trudeau’s sense of inclusion and positivity,” said DePape. “We appreciate his comments on moving away from fossil fuels. We disagree with the recent decisions to approve Line 9 and Kinder Morgan.”

“Trudeau can be a force for good by leading on climate and Indigenous rights. Trudeau, can say no to the Keystone XL pipeline and say yes to investing in renewable energy, giving hope to our generation for a healthy and green present and future,” said DePape.
