Upcoming Saskatoon conference will feature Academy Award nominee

In two months, the Council of Canadians will host Groundswell: Grassroots Power in the Age of Extreme Energy. This four-day event will highlight the power of communities in Saskatchewan and across Canada to stand up to corporations and governments to protect our environment, our jobs and our democracy.

Academy Award nominated director Josh Fox will help kick off the conference with a special screening of his films Gasland and Gasland II.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS: Maude Barlow, National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians and author of the forthcoming book Blue Future: Protecting Water for People and the Planet Forever; Josh Fox, documentary filmmaker, environmental activist, and director of Gasland and Gasland II; Erica Lee, student and Idle No More activist; Larry Hubich, president of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour; and a welcome from Tribal Chief Felix Thomas.
