The System Change project aims to inspire action by encouraging community-based teach-ins in the lead up to the UN climate talks in Durban, South Africa. Building on messages brought forward in the videos, project action toolkits provide examples of actions and supporting activist tools to help advance climate justice. Toolkits can be a “next step” after raising awareness through the teach-ins. There are also many existing community-based campaigns that can be supported through the teach-ins.

Change Trade not the Climate! Free trade agreements have encouraged unlimited growth and trumped environmental laws, contributing to the pollution of our environment, higher CO2 emissions, and the exploitation and depletion of natural resources. This has led to a global food crisis, water scarcity and unjust and unsustainable climate change impacts. The Canada-European Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) will contribute to these impacts by putting trade interests ahead of local community interests.
