Stand up for Canada on Canadian National Film Day April 16

National Canadian Film Day and the Council of Canadians – Elbows up! Apr. 16

One big day. One big country. One big celebration of Canadian film! National Canadian Film Day is coming up on April 16th, and we are grateful to the event organizers for naming the Council of Canadians as the beneficiary of ticket sale proceeds from one of this year’s special events.

With more than 1900 screenings across the country and around the world, as well as offerings on every major broadcast channel and streaming service, National Canadian Film Day provides a unique opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate our stories… your stories. On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, over two million Canadians will gather in theatres, community halls, classrooms, and living rooms, as well as across the globe, to enjoy the films that make us proud to call this place home. Stand up for Canada – by sitting down to a great Canadian film.

Best of all, if you are in the Toronto area you can attend a special event and all ticket sales will directly support the Council of Canadians!

When: April 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EDT
Where: Scotiabank Theatre Toronto, 259 Richmond St W, Toronto, ON.
How much: Admission is $12, with all ticket proceeds going to The Council of Canadians.

Let’s pack the event in support of Canadian film and the Council of Canadians.
