Corporate Canada is demanding more cuts
We’re fighting back
Austerity hurts, and corporate Canada has more in store
Corporate lobbyists are pushing the government to double down on austerity, cutting public health care and core services while they announce record profits. These cuts have already caused real harm, and a majority government could be pressured to go even further.
The Council of Canadians has been at the forefront of fighting budget cuts — we were part of an early resistance (Draw the Line, Stop the Cuts) that reduced the cuts by billions, saving thousands of jobs. After we campaigned to stop cuts at the Canada Water Agency, $X million in planned cuts were reversed. Thanks to members and supporters like you, we have the independence to confront corporate power and move fast.
With a majority in place and more austerity on the way, we’re organizing to expose the true villain, and advance a clear alternative.
