We have just received word that the Occupy Edmonton camp is facing eviction tonight (Sunday) at 11:00 pm MT.
About 50 people have been sleeping in tents at a small downtown park for the past week. The camp has even secured a porta-potty with a donation from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.
You can help stop their eviction by signing an on-line petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/stop-the-eviction-of-occupy-edmonton/.
You are also encouraged to e-mail Melcor, the company that ‘owns’ the park, at info@melcor.ca and/or telephone them at 780-423-6931 and tell them to let Occupy Edmonton stay.
You can also encourage people to ‘Like’ Occupy Edmonton’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com, so that they can demonstrate the level of support they have.
If you live in or near Edmonton please go to the camp (102nd St. and Jasper Ave.) at 10:30 pm MT tonight and stand in support of Occupy Edmonton.
