The Council of Canadians Campbell River chapter will be holding an all-candidates ‘meet and greet’ on April 22, Earth Day.
Their media release notes, “On Earth Day, Saturday April 22nd 1-3pm, Council of Canadians Campbell River chapter is sponsoring an All Candidates Meet And Greet event at the Campbell River Library 1240 Shoppers Row in Campbell River. Confirmed to attend are the following four candidates in the May 9th Provincial General Election vying to represent the North Island riding: Sue Moen (Green Party); Dallas Smith (Liberal Party); Claire Trevena (New Democratic Party), and John Twigg (B.C. First Party).”
Chapter activist Joanne Banks says, “The Meet And Greet will be an open format with no formal speeches or debates by the candidates. Come on out and chat with your candidates and ask them for their views on topics that concern you.”

The CBC recently reported that the NDP has a 75.6 per cent chance of winning the election, while the governing Liberal party under Premier Christy Clark has a 24.2 per cent chance of winning. Projections suggest the NDP could win 48 seats, the Liberals 37 seats, and the Green Party 2 seats.
In addition, The Council of Canadians Williams Lake chapter is organizing an all-candidates debate on April 20, while the Delta-Richmond chapter is hosting an all-candidates meeting on April 27.
