Our new report, co-authored with CUPE, on how Canada-EU trade talks are putting public water at risk has attracted some high-profile attention in the French media. Late last year, French journalist and water activist Marc Laimé summarized the report’s findings in a post for Le Monde Diplomatique, a critical and popular independent news source with global distribution. Then this week, Gérald Fillion with Radio-Canada TV interviewed report co-author Meera Karunananthan (see YouTube clip above) on the poverty of the private model for water service delivery. We’ll be taking the report with us to Brussels later this month to encourage European decision makers to reject including water services in the proposed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. You can help by getting the report into the hands of local, provincial/territorial and federal politicians in Canada. Click here to use our Action Alert: Don’t let CETA privatize our water!
