The National Post reports that, “The downtown Metro Toronto Convention Centre (on Front Street) will host world leaders at next summer’s G20 summit, deputy mayor Joe Pantalone said… The summit will be held on June 26 and 27.”
The Toronto Star adds, “The convention centre hosted the G7 summit in 1988, when police erected a 4-metre high steel and concrete fence around the grounds. Military helicopters flew overhead as sharpshooters kept an eye on anti-summit demonstrators.”
The Huntsville Forester reports that, “the now two-day G8… will take place June 25 to the afternoon of June 26” in Huntsville.
Representatives from the Council of Canadians will be attending a key planning meeting for protests against the G8/G20 in Toronto on January 20.
