NEWS: Barlow opens ‘Saving the Great Lakes Forever’ conference

9&10 News reports, “Saving the Great Lakes Forever is both the name and the goal of the conference that kicked off in Traverse City (on Friday night). …They started their discussions at the (540-seat) State Theater with keynote speaker Maude Barlow, an internationally acclaimed water activist, and they showed the movie TAPPED.”

“‘(Then on Saturday morning) there will be a panel to discuss the solution or the solutions we need to come together to ensure water is here 12,000 years from now the way it is today,’ said Jim Olson, chair of the Flow for Water Coalition.”

“Different environmental organizations including the Flow for Water Coalition and the Great Lakes Water Studies Institute are hosting the event.”
