Brant News recently reported on the founding of the new Council of Canadians chapter in Brant, Ontario. So successful was the first meeting that the newspaper reported, “The Council of Canadians’ new Brant chapter will have to find a new location for its second meeting (scheduled for February 2 at 10:30 am). It was standing room only at the Brantford Visitor and Tourism Centre as Mark Calzavara, regional organizer for the national citizens’ lobby group, explained how a new chapter is founded.”

The article adds, “The foundation meeting was brought about in part by the Concerned Citizens of Brant’s fight against a gravel pit in Paris. ‘Some of the people involved in the gravel pit asked about how they could make a chapter,’ Calzavara said.”

The latest Council of Canadians chapters to be formed also include:
-Thunder Bay, ON
-Fredericton, NB
-Hinton, AB
-Fraser Valley, BC
-Saskatoon, SK
