NEWS: Kenney to receive honorary doctorate in Toronto, Nov. 4

Now that Harper has received his ‘World Statesman Award’, Toronto Star columnist Heather Mallick reports that Jason Kenney, Harper’s Minister of Citizenship, will receive an honorary doctorate in philosophy from the University of Haifa “in appreciation of his revered leadership” at the Royal York hotel in Toronto on November 4. She notes that the university’s ‘tribute team’ includes John H. Tory (former leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative party), Harry Rosen (owner of the luxury men’s wear store Harry Rosen Inc.), Ezra Levant (Sun News), and Charles McVety (Canada Christian College).

In February 2011, the Toronto Star reported that under Kenney the number of refugees allowed into this country has dropped by 25 per cent.
