NEWS: ‘People Power’ screening in Whistler, Nov. 16

The Whistler Question reports that, “A group of B.C. residents concerned about energy and the environment is inviting Sea to Sky residents to an event (on Tuesday November 16) that will include the screening of a new film (‘People Power: Building Social Movements to Protect Public Power in Canada’) dealing with the protection of public power assets.”

“The presentation by leading ecologist Rex Weyler and Pina Belperio of the Council of Canadians is part of a 12-city tour of southern B.C.”
“The new instructional DVD will be screened, organizers said.” A copy of that DVD is also being mailed by the Council of Canadians national office to all Council chapters across the country.

“Organized by the B.C. Citizens for Public Power, the meeting will help attendees learn how to stop the privatization of B.C.’s energy sector.”

The event takes place on Tuesday November 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre’s Miller Room in Whistler. Admission is free.
