NEWS: Vale potash mine in Saskatchewan delayed

CBC reports that Vale is postponing the construction of a potash mine near Kronau, Saskatchewan that would have needed 40 million litres of water a day (to be taken from Katepwa Lake in the Qu’Appelle Valley via a 70-kilometre pipeline). It would have begun operations in 2015. No new start date has been given, nor has a date been reported for when a decision to proceed would be made. Here’s a blog I wrote on this mine from last February, http://canadians.org/blog/?p=13372. This is the CBC report, http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2012/08/16/sk-potash-mine-plans-120816.html.
