Election Ontario 2025

Ontario Election guide

This voter guide is prepared for you by the amazing volunteers at the Ottawa Chapter of the Council of Canadians, with support from the national office of the Council of Canadians.

Ontario’s election day is coming fast. You’ve all heard Doug Ford’s hype about why the Conservatives deserve another majority. You’ve also heard from Bonnie Crombie, Marit Stiles, and Mike Schreiner about why one of their parties should lead the province. What’s the right thing to do?

To help ourselves—and you—decide, members of the Council of Canadians’ Ottawa Chapter have studied the platforms of the four parties and divided them into key topics on affordability, health care, housing, seniors, environment, taxation, transportation, workers’ rights, and trade.

For each of these issues, we align the policy commitment with the Council of Canadians’ core values of people, planet, and democracy, indicating whether each of them agrees with (green), appears neutral (black), or raises concerns (red) with these values.

We hope seeing the parties’ planned programs like this can help you compare how close each one is to the kind of Canada we’re working toward. We hope the chart will help residents across Ontario be more informed when they head to the poll on Tuesday, February 27th. Advance voting is also open this weekend, February 20-22nd.

No matter what you decide, PLEASE VOTE. Our democracy depends on voter participation.
