The Harper government is about to ram through a second omnibudget 
bill that claws back environmental legislation and greases the wheels for industry to pass through pipeline and other projects without regard for water and environmental protections. And this has been done without democratic debate.

The April omnibudget bill (Bill C-38) replaced the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act with a new act that eliminated 3000 federal environmental assessments and weakened fish habitat protections by gutting the Fisheries Act. Now with C-45, the federal government is removing protections on 99% of lakes and rivers by replacing the Navigable Waters Protection Act.
These budget bills will have serious environmental consequences for generations to come. Please join us in a public debate on how we can reclaim democracy!
