The Guelph Mercury reports that, “The Guelph chapter of the Council of Canadians is hosting a rally to protest Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s prorogation of parliament. The rally, called Perogies not Proroguing, is scheduled for Jan. 23, from 1 to 4 pm in St. George’s Square.”
“The plan is to gather in St. George’s Square at 1 pm and march to 10 Camden St. At 1:30 where perogies will be served. There will be a theatrical performance – the Court of Public Opinion – followed by an address from Guelph MP Frank Valeriote and a discussion moderated by Rev. John Lawson.”

The Council of Canadians is opposed to Stephen Harper’s prorogation of Parliament and believes that parliamentarians should be back at work on Monday January 25.
