UPDATE: Barlow to address CUPE convention in Vancouver, Nov. 2

Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow will be speaking at the upcoming CUPE 25th anniversary convention in Vancouver. She is scheduled to speak at some point between 2 pm and 6 pm (likely at 3 pm) on Wednesday November 2.

The complete schedule for the October 30 to November 4 convention can be found at http://cupe.ca/cupe-national-convention/convention-2011-program.

The Council of Canadians will also have an information table at CUPE’s virtual gallery. You can find us at the top of their floor plan at http://cupe.ca/cupe-national-convention/virtual-gallery. If you are at the convention, be sure to drop by and say hello to BC-Yukon organizing assistant Ava Waxman and pick up some of our materials.

The Council of Canadians stands in solidarity with CUPE and values our long-standing relationship with them, notably in ongoing campaign areas such as the Blue Communities Project, opposition to the Canada-European Union free trade agreement (CETA), and the defence of public health care in Canada.
