UPDATE: Council of Canadians AGM starts Friday!

We have a very exciting 25th annual general meeting planned starting this Friday night at the Crowne Plaza Hotel here in Ottawa.

Our keynote speakers on Friday night will address the potentially devastating effects of the proposed Canada-European Union trade deal on municipal democracy, public water, farmers and other areas and speak to a different – and better – future that values people and the planet over profits.

And we have a full program planned for the weekend too.

And remember:

  • Trade negotiators are in Ottawa for Canada-European Union trade talks. We will be telling them why it’s a bad deal for Canada. Join us for a big demonstration at 12 pm outside Old City Hall at 111 Sussex Drive. Speakers include Maude Barlow, Terry Boehm, Dave Coles and Clayton Thomas-Muller.
  • If you can’t be in Ottawa, Rabble.ca will be live web-streaming key portions of our annual general meeting on Friday and Saturday. More on that at http://canadians.org/campaignblog/?p=4963.
