UPDATE: Council-CUPE tour against CETA continues this fall

The Council of Canadians and the Canadian Union of Public Employees are beginning the fall portion of their tour against the Canada-European Union free trade agreement in Moncton this Saturday September 10.

The public forum will take place at the Eastern Municipal Workers Conference on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Shediac Room of the Delta Beauséjour Hotel at 750 Main Street. The speakers are Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow, CUPE president Paul Moist, and Moncton and District Labour Council vice-president Ken Thompson.

During this fall tour, public forums are also being held in Hamilton on Tuesday September 27 and in Windsor on Wednesday September 28. Additional public forums will take place on October 11, 12, and 13 in Abbotsford, Vancouver and Victoria.

The spring/summer 7-city Council of Canadians-CUPE speaking tour against CETA went to Calgary (on April 29), Montreal (May 24), Toronto (May 26), Saskatoon (May 31), Winnipeg (June 27), Halifax (June 28), and St. John’s (June 29). To date, the tour has reached an audience totalling 1500 people in 7 provinces, with multiple media articles reaching an even larger audience.
