Late this afternoon I had the honour of meeting those participating in the ‘Fast and Vigil for Climate Justice’ on Parliament Hill. I met with Dewan, Ken, Lyn, Raven, Rita and Sylvia who are now on Day 4 of their fast (it began on September 21 and extends a full 12 days until October 2). I also met with Vincent who is providing support for the group.
The Council of Canadians extends its solidarity to their vigil and is pleased to be able to lend some modest practical support to them as well.
Apart from being on Parliament Hill generally between 9 am and 6 pm, they are also organizing a series of evening events. Their next event ‘Mother Earth – Protect our Living Planet’ takes place tomorrow night (Sept. 25) at 7 pm at Friends House, 91 1/2 Fourth Avenue.
