UPDATE: Council vice-chair to attend World Social Forum in Dakar

Council of Canadians vice-chair Leo Broderick will be attending the World Social Forum in Dakar, Senegal on our behalf. This tenth WSF takes place from February 6 to February 11 at the Cheikh Anta Diop University Campus.

In a recent CounterPunch interview, Éric Toussaint, a Belgian historian and founding member of the World Social Forum, stated, “The Forum is practically the only global arena where there is a convergence of social movements, NGOs, leftwing political organisations and even progressive governments, and that is why I think it must be strengthened. There is no other body of its kind.” The full interview is at http://www.counterpunch.org/ferrari01262011.html.
