UPDATE: Maude Barlow at the Black Sheep Inn, February 20

If you live in the Ottawa-area, don’t miss the SOS Wakefield fundraiser at the Black Sheep Inn on Sunday February 20 at 4 pm. The event features Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow and numerous local musicians.

The event will raise funds for the campaign to protect the popular Valle Verde aquifer and Wakefield Spring under threat from a highway expansion project.

The local Wakefield newspaper recently reported, “Drinking water, the Council of Canadians which has thrown its support behind SOS, argues, is not a ‘commodity’ or a ‘resource’; it’s a basic human right. The Wakefield Spring provides 5,000 users clean drinking water.”
