Yesterday, a Tsilhqot’in National Government media release noted, “The Tsilhqot’in Chiefs will be presenting to Williams Lake’s City Council tomorrow, Tuesday December 4th, at 6 p.m., on their Nation’s opposition to the ‘new’ Prosperity Mine Proposal. The Tsilhqot’in Chiefs are proud to have alongside them Grand Chief Stewart Phillip and Chief Bob Chamberlin, who along with Chief Marilyn Baptiste represent the Executive from the Union of BC Indian Chiefs.”
They have previously noted, “Ahead of the presentation, the local chapter of the Council of Canadians and the Fish Lake Alliance will be joining the Chiefs, staff and community members at TNG at 4:30pm for snacks, before walking over to City Hall together just before 6pm.”
Just minutes ago (at 9 pm ET) this powerful photo was posted on Facebook of their presence at Williams Lake City Hall.
