Youth from the Whapmagoostui First Nation in northern Quebec are walking 1100 kilometres south from Hudson Bay to Ottawa to express their support for Attawapiskat First Nation Chief Theresa Spence, Idle No More, and to show the strength of Cree culture.
The walkers are Isaac Kawapit (47), Stanley George Junior (17), David Kawapit (18), Travis George (18) and Raymond ‘Bajo’ Kawapit (20).
They are expected to arrive in Ottawa two-months from now in mid-March.
