This means you still have time to contact your Member of Parliament and ask them to make GM labelling a reality in Canada’s grocery stores.”
CBAN has this action box on their website. When you type in your postal code, it generates the name and e-mail address for your Member of Parliament, and you can then instant message your MP the following text:

It’s time for mandatory, clear labels to identify GM foods. I want to know which foods in my grocery store are genetically modified.
Health Canada recently approved a GM apple, a GM potato and a GM salmon (the world’s first GM food animal) – but without labelling how can I find out if and when they are in my local store? Clear text labels on food packages would provide transparency in the marketplace and give me a choice.
Over 80% of Canadians want mandatory labelling. I am one of them.
The Council of Canadians has been supporting the call for the mandatory labelling of food with genetically modified organisms since May 1998.
We supported Liberal MP Charles Caccia’s private members bill C-287, legislation that would have made the labelling of genetically modified food in Canada mandatory. That legislation was opposed by then-Prime Minister Jean Chretien and defeated in a House of Commons vote in October 2001.
