The Council of Canadians Montreal chapter protested against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) today.
While federal trade minister Chrystia Freeland was at Concordia University in Montreal tonight for a sparsely-attended “town hall” meeting, hundreds of people took to the streets earlier in the day to protest against the “free trade” deal.
The protest was organized by our ally Le Réseau québécois sur l’intégration continentale (RQIC).
Council of Canadians chapters have attended other federal government “consultations” on the TPP, presented to the House of Commons standing committee studying the ‘free trade’ deal, encouraged city councils to pass resolutions against the TPP, organized protests, promoted petitions, and much more.

Freeland will hold her next “town hall” on the TPP on June 15 at 6 pm in the Desautels Hall Auditorium at the University of Toronto.
