When: October 1st, 2024
Where: More than 60 locations across the country
All of us, regardless of our age, skin colour, or background, want clean water, safe air, and thriving, healthy communities.
Climate change threatens what we want – this summer, wildfires and floods destroyed homes, the heat and smoke limited our activities, and all of this had an impact on our mental and physical health. And the people responsible for these disasters – fossil fuel corporations and the politicians they pay for – are putting their own profit in the way of the change that we know is possible.
We know the one thing they fear: a strong, multiracial, intergenerational, activated climate movement. We CAN win faster, more impactful climate action when we all come together and build the relationships and power to push for the climate solutions we know are possible.
That’s why the Council of Canadians is excited to be supporting the October 1st Seniors Day of Climate Action, organized by Seniors for Climate. We are all part of the solution. Whether you’re a senior, a toddler, or anyone in between, you’re invited to join seniors across the country in demanding faster and better climate action now.
No event planned in your area? Start your own! There’s plenty of help. Seniors for Climate have volunteers who can support you, a menu of actions for inspiration, and plenty of resources to help you promote your event. Get in touch at contactinfo@seniorsforclimate.org!
Together, we can build the broad and deep-rooted movement we need, to make a better world with clean water, safe air, and the thriving communities that we, our kids, and our grandkids deserve.
