The Liberal government is expected to spend more on water protection in its budget on February 27. However, any increased spending is likely to be entirely cancelled out by the Trudeau government’s failure to commit to water protection, while championing water and climate endangering projects like the 890,000 barrel per day Kinder Morgan pipeline.
In the Water chapter of the Alternative Federal Budget, the Council of Canadians calls on the Trudeau government to commit to keeping its election promises with spending that protects every lake and every river.
