Getting Beyond Single Use Plastic

Our planet is choking on plastic waste! During Earth Week, learn more about the degradation of the planet caused by plastics and what we can all do about it at ‘Getting Beyond Single Use Plastic’ on April 27th from 1 to 4pm at the Campbell River Regional Library, 1240 Shoppers Row.

There will be interesting and informative displays, films, prizes and more at this event.

In B.C., 14 communities either have bylaws or are in the process of creating bylaws banning single use plastic bags and, in some cases, other single use plastics. Recently, the City of Campbell River asked its staff for a report on this issue before deciding whether to move ahead with a similar bylaw.

This Earth Week event is cosponsored by Council of Canadians – Campbell River chapter, Campbell River Environmental Committee, Sierra Club – Quadra Island chapter and Citizens for Quality Health Care.
